The lower unit price is not always the cheaper buy

Put two quotes side by side on a landed basis. Freight, handling, duty, and the charges that arrive later routinely reverse which supplier is actually cheaper — the defaults below show exactly that.

Supplier B · landed lands cheaper at $82.61 per unit — $525 less across the order.

Note the flip: Supplier B · landed quotes the higher unit price and still wins once freight, handling, and duty are counted. This is the case for insisting on a landed basis.

Worth knowing

Freight, handling, and other charges are entered as order totals and divided across the quantity. Duty applies to product value only.

This is an arithmetic aid, not tax or customs advice. Classification, duty rates, and their basis should be confirmed with a licensed broker.
